Ronald A. Burnett

Ronald A. Burnett 73 of Oberlin passed away at Ames Family Hospice November 18 2017.  Ron was born in Berea, Ohio on April 12 1944. He was a graduate of Elyria High 1962.  Ron served USMC in 1965 in Viet Nam (Chu Lai) 13th month deployment having discharged in May of 1969.  He retired from USS/Kobe Steel after 30 years in 1999.  Ron coached hot stove baseball 2 state champion teams with Schubert Buick & Sport Shop, coached youth soccer in 70's & 80's, Asst: coach West Shore Y from 1979-1987 & Head coach from 1987-1995, North Coast Youth Wresling 1995-1996, Youth Wrestling LCWCOA 2016 Hall of Fame. Ron founded All American Wrestling & is now called BTWC Burnett Trained Wrestling coached by his sons Erik & Scott.  Ron is survived by his wife Ruth Burnett, 2 sons Erik (Janet) Burnett & Scott (Jodi) Burnett, daughter Jennifer(Matthew) Herbold, grandchildren Mick, Nate Burnett, Hank, Ruby Herbold, Max, Grey & Lina Burnett, sister Sandy (Larry) Sanders, brother Glenn (Kathy) Burnett & a host of nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his parents Russell & Lucille Burnett.  There will be a celebration of life held at New Russia Twp. Hall on December 3 2017 from 1-5pm.
