Aunt Jeanne was such a wonderful part of my childhood, always generously including me in the fun at the Gerber house. I remember weeks filled with kick-the-can, sprinkler play, pizza-making, adults drinking coffee endlessly and an open-door policy like I have never seen before or since that time. I loved being a small part of the buzz at Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Kenny's house and I always reflected on how sweetly they came to visit me after my tonsillectomy, (bringing a plant in a planter that was shaped like a mouse on a shoe, which I treasured for years). My mom, Elsie, was blessed to have Jeanne as a dear friend---as were countless other souls in Ohio. Jeanne Gerber will be dearly missed.
