Walter "Bud" DeWitt Champe Jr.

Bud passed away at home after a long illness.  He was a graduate of Oberlin High in 1955, graduate of Central State Univ. in 1959 with a degree in Psychology.  While there he was a swimming champion competing throughout the US. At Central State he was enrolled in the ROTC Program graduating as 2nd Lt. He served 3 years in the Army in the 101st Airborne Div. "Screaming Eagles". He attended BGSU receiving a  Masters degree in Public Administration & worked towards his Ph.D at Boston Univ.   Bud was a 33 degree Mason with United Supreme Council of Ohio.   Bud taught at Shaw High School in East Cleveland & later began his career with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  For over 27 years he worked in various capacities, retiring as the Area Director of the San Diego Office.
