Thomas Russo Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas F. Russo, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong educator. Tom passed away peacefully, with his beloved wife of 45 years by his side until the very end.

Tom was unwavering in his commitment to his family, especially his wife, Carol. They built an enduring life together, centered around their three sons. He was completely devoted to Carol and loved her without reservation from the day they met as teenagers. Tom took his duties as a father seriously. His love and support for his sons' goals and ambitions was absolute. He set a formidable example and held his children to a high bar.

Tom was a giant in the K-12 public education landscape in Northeast Ohio. He left behind a legacy as an exceptional educator and student advocate. Tom was a respected classroom teacher and coach before transitioning into several successful leadership roles over the last 25 years of his remarkable career. Tom was a trusted mentor to many, and his impact endures in many classrooms and hallways across Northeast Ohio.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, and their three sons: Nicholas (Dawn), Thomas Joseph, and Bryan (Lauren). He is also survived by his brother, Michael (Bonnie), and his nine grandchildren: Avery, Sloane, Lillian, Thomas Brady, Patrick, Jackson, Calvin, Margaret, and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Margaret.

The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from friends and chosen family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Thomas F. Russo Scholarship at Lorain County Community College, 1005 North Abbe Road, Suite CC220, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
