Susan E. Schubert

Susan E. Schubert, 64, of Oberlin, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 14, 2022. She was born February 14, 1958 in Oberlin, to Robert and Katherine (Bohrer) Smith. Susan “Suzy Q” Schubert was an amazing woman who made an impact on everyone who knew her as well as the Oberlin community as a whole. Suzy had a wild sense of humor and always made people laugh. Suzy was an active and vocal supporter of numerous community initiatives. She loved traveling and organizing trips. Suzy loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, birdwatching and riding horses. Suzy lived for her family and enjoyed traveling to watch athletics events for both her sons but became recently obsessed with her first grandchild, Frank. Suzy was a caring and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to helping others. For over 40 years, Suzy served others as a well respected registered nurse in various positions and was a wealth of knowledge in the medical field. She is survived by her husband, Eric “Woody” Schubert; two sons, Chris (Deonna) Schubert and Eric (Kari) Schubert; grandson, Frank Schubert; sisters, Kathleen (Mike) Chelstowski and Eileen Hammer. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Katherine Smith; brother, Timothy Smith. Friends may join the family for a celebration of life service on Friday, July 22, 2022 beginning at 2 p.m. with speaking and memories from 6 to 8 p.m. at the New Russia Township Park & Nature Preserve, 45877 Butternut Ridge Road, Oberlin, OH 44074. In lieu of flowers, Susan would like a tree planted or memorial contributions may be made in Susan's name to any park service or Metropark causes. In Susan’s words: “Peace out, bitches”
