ShaQwe Lawson Obituary

ShaQwe’ Eshe’ Rene’ Lawson, ‘ Fatty ', 34, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at her home unexpectedly. She was born December 19, 1989 in Oberlin and was a graduate of Oberlin High School. ShaQwe’ was also a graduate of Youngstown State University, with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She worked at the Oriana House as a case manager, in Cleveland. Her previous employment history included Lorain and Grafton Correctional Institutions as a correctional officer.

She was an avid sports enthusiast, playing basketball, volleyball and softball all through high school, and attended Notre Dame College on a full basketball scholarship. She continued playing organized sports while coaching and umpiring.

ShaQwe was also a life long biker, obtaining her motorcycle endorsement at the age of 18. She rode with two chapters, Soul Devils and Boogie Down. Having ridden over 10 years, earning her lifers’ status.

ShaQwe’s magnetic personality was her greatest attribute making lifelong friends all over the world. She loved spending time with family and friends, but her most cherished relationship was the one with her son (DOODA)

She leaves to mourn her wife, Destiny Lawson, of Lorain, son, Azare’ Lawson, (Onchantea) of Lorain, mother, Donna Lawson, of Lorain, father, Danny Colbert Sr, of Oberlin, bonus dad, Robert Howard, of Lorain, four brothers Quint Thomas, of Elyria, MaQwe' Lawson, of Lorain, Danny Colbert Jr, of Elyria and Dominique Colbert, of Oberlin.

ShaQwe’ was proceeded in death by both her paternal and maternal grandparents.

In honor of ShaQwe’s life a celebration will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 viewing at 10:00 AM service to follow at Mt.Zion Baptist Church 47 Locust Street Oberlin, Ohio 44074.
