Ronondo “Ron” Sherrod, 69, of Oberlin, passed away on July 20, 2025, at LifeCare of Elyria.
Ron lived a life full of laughter, warmth, and love for his family. He was born on June 3, 1956, to Ella and Robert Sherrod. Raised in Oberlin, he was a four-sport athlete and graduated from Oberlin High School in 1975. He married his beloved wife, Audrey Sherrod, in 1985, and together they welcomed two daughters into their lives. Ron worked as a machinist at York International, a custodian and bus driver for the Oberlin City School District, and later as a transportation specialist with Murray Ridge Center. Later in life, he transformed his talent for lawn care into a small business, caring for the yards of family, friends, and his church. Throughout his life Ron stayed active joining the SDA basketball league, enjoying racquetball with friends, tackling home renovation projects, and traveling. Ron will be remembered for his love of cooking, his sense of humor, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He is survived by his daughters, Brittnei Forlenza and Kristin Sherrod; his granddaughter, Delilah Sherrod; and his companion, Rose Mason, who brought him joy in his later years. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Audrey Sherrod. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 28th at 12:00pm, at the Oberlin Westwood Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend. Online condolences may be made to www.cowlingfuneralhomeoh.com
