Robert Parks Obituary

Robert C. Parks 70 of Elyria passed away at New Life Hospice in Lorain on December 10 2018. He was born in Amherst on February 18 1948.  He was a graduate of Wellington High in 1967. Robert was a true patriot to his country.  He joined the U.S. Marine Corp and served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.  A hero to his country he was recognized for his valor by being a recipient of the Silver Star and 3 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars one from Vietnam and the second from serving in Afghanistan.  In March 1976 Robert enlisted in the Ohio Air National Guard "Red Horse Division" located in Port Clinton serving for over 28 years.  He served as the units first Sargent for 8 years and retired as Chief Master Sargent with 32 years of service to his country.  Robert also worked at Moen as a machinist for 36 years.  He enjoyed model trains and target shooting.  He is survived by his Son Brent Parks, 2 step daughters Jennifer Dingus and Kandy Moldenhauer, step son Ryan Phillips, 2 grandsons Brad and Jake Parks, 3 sisters Joyce Rosecrans, Kendra (Bob) Behner and Sharon (Chuck) Boss and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Jeanette Parks and his wife Noreen Parks.  There will be a private family service and burial at a later date.
