Rita H. Waltz

Rita H. Waltz of Oberlin passed away on February 26, 2026 after a long illness.  She was born on May 20, 1938 in Kleinrinderfeld Germany. She moved to the United States in 1957 and married J. Glenn Waltz in 1959. They moved to Oberlin in 1963.

She worked as property manager at Oberlin College. Rita retired from the college but continued to be involved real estate through student rentals. She loved all creatures great and small and owned a horse farm just outside Oberlin, where she raised both Friesian horses and a menagerie of other animals.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Donna and Lisa Waltz, and her granddaughter, Luna Waltz. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Berta Linz, and her husband, J. Glenn Waltz.

Burial in Westwood Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life gathering, will be announced at a later date.
