Richard J. Dunn

Richard J. Dunn Beloved husband of Louise Munson Dunn; loving father of Laura Dunn, Virginia Dunn Mulligan (David) and Patricia Dunn Balderson (William); grandfather of Christopher Mulligan (Kristina), Terry Mulligan (Marshane), and Kyle Mulligan; and great-grandfather to Katherine and Sophie Mulligan. Dick was born in Hamden, CT in June,1929. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College and Cornell University. After graduating, he worked as the assistant city manager in Oak Park, IL, and then in 1959 became Oberlin's city manager. He left Oberlin in 1963 to pursue business opportunities in the private sector in Montclair, NJ. Dick returned to Oberlin in 1967 to work as vice-president and CEO of Gilford Instruments. Beginning in 1983, he became vice-president of development and alumni affairs of Oberlin College. He retired from that position in 1992. Dick was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and active in many community boards and organizations.
