Richard A. Cowling 76 of Wellington passed away at Medina Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Elyria on September 19 1943. Dick was a graduate of Oberlin High, Otterbein College and Pittsburgh Mortuary of Science. He has been a funeral Director for over 50 years working in the family business. He was a member of OFDA, LCFDA and other funeral organizations. He was also a member and past president of Wellington Kiwanis club, Wellington hospital board, a member of the Wellington Eagles #2051. Also was a charter member of the Snow Angels snowmobile club. He enjoyed all sports especially playing softball, football and enjoyed boating, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Dianne Cowling of Wellington, 2 sons Mike (Bonnie) Cowling Wellington, Brad (Amy) Cowling Wellington, daughter Becca (Kristy Holliday) Cowling Wellington, 5 grandchildren Devon, Heidi, Colton, Aubrey and Morgan Kuzak, 1 sister Sandra Reddington of Agawam, Mass, 1 brother Gary (Deanna) Cowling of Oberlin, 5 nieces and 5 nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents Garnard H. Cowling and LaVerne P. Cowling. Visitation will be Monday February 17 2020 from 4-7pm at the Cowling Funeral Home of Oberlin where services will be on Tuesday February 18 2020 at 11am with Brian Kenyon Officiating.
