Mervin "Zip" L. Champe Jr.

Mervin L. Champe Jr., affectionately known as "Zip," passed away at the age of 63 on Saturday, November 30, 2024 in Elyria, Ohio. Born on July 29, 1961, in Oberlin, Ohio, Mervin spent most of his life in Lorain County. He graduated from Oberlin High School and honorably served in the United States Air Force.

Mervin is survived by his son, Mervin L. Champe Ill (Sophia); daughter Danielle C. Reynolds (nee Champe) (Christopher), grandsons Andrei L. Bowens Jr., Kai R. Champe, Kory L. Champe, brother Damon
M. Champe (Robyn) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte I. Champe (nee Burnett); his brother, Derrick T. Champe; and his parents, Mervin L. Champe Sr and Ardella S. Champe (nee Crosby).

Mervin's presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him. Details of the memorial services will be announced at a later date.
