Martha L. Edwards 86 of Oberlin passed away at her home on March 17 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Myrtlewood, Alabama on April 3 1933. Martha was a nurse and then after that she retired from General Motors in 1988. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oberlin and was past president of the choir and also having worked in the kitchen for the church. Marth was a member of Sandusky Subdistrict of Northern Ohio Baptist District Association 2nd Vice, Sisters of Wisdom and a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Society. She is survived by her 3 daughters Shirley President-Thomas, Gloria President and Brenda Hughes, son Floyd President, 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, 2 step daughters Sharisse Edwards and Tara Edwards, 2 brothers Roy Jackson and Herman Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Annie Lee Jackson, 1st Husband Abe President, 2nd husband Metter Evans, 3rd Husband Coleman Edwards, 2 sons George Jackson and Wilson President, daughter Mary President, infant baby girl, great grandson and five siblings. There will be a private family graveside service in Westwood Cemetery with Rev. Fred Bell officiating. A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oberlin.
