Mark “Mac” Huston of Oberlin, OH passed away on November 3, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 16, 1953, in Columbus, OH, Mac was raised in Oberlin, OH where he built a life rooted in hard work and devotion to those he loved. He was a graduate of Lorain County Community College with a degree in civil engineering. He dedicated 43 years of service to Bay Mechanical and Electrical in Lorain, where he was a project manager specializing in HVAC and fire protection.
Mac had numerous hobbies and interests, including golf, football, baseball and racing, and spent countless hours working in the yard. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. He loved being a grandpa and cherished every moment with his four grandkids. The last two years of his life, following a successful kidney transplant, were filled with renewed energy, three new grandchildren, travel and quality family time. His family will forever be grateful for the vibrancy and joy that gift of life brought him.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen; daughter Melanie (Matt Barlow); son Kyle (Emily Twichell); and grandchildren Elyse (5), Isla (2), Cameron (2) and Addison (8 months). He also leaves behind his siblings Larry, Jane, and Phil Huston along with numerous cousins, in-laws, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ethel (Phillips) Huston.
Mac’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those around him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held on November 23, 2025 from 2-5pm at The Lodge at New Russia Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Kidney Foundation at https://kidneytribute.rallybound.org/markhuston
