Marie Georgia Fisher

Marie Georgia Fisher (nee Pease) said "Toodle-Loo" to this world on July 13, 2022, after brightening it since February 27, 1936. Born the 8th of 9 children to Frank & Ada Pease in Pittsfield, Ohio, Marie lived most of her life in Lorain County. A 1954 graduate of LaGrange High School, Marie enjoyed sharing stories of n all the gals" and of the trio of which she was a member, sharing her beautiful Soprano voice, which was captured on a vinyl 78.

After working at Oberlin College, she married Bernard Fisher and accepted a promotion to Head

Homemaker, as well as Executive Mom to Sheila, Diane, Gloria (Jay) and Jennifer (Carlos). She never retired from this position, instead expanding it to include Grandchildren- Shawn (Jennie), Valerie, Annaleah & Adrien-, Great-granddaughters - Shamura and Kayleigh-, and recently opened her heart to 4 stepgrandkids. Marie was very involved with her childrensi lives, attending concerts, plays, sporting events, etc. She was President of the PTA and co-founded the College for Kids program at LCCC, which still exists today.

Marie enjoyed yelling "BINGO!!" playing rummy with the little ones and teaching them to play piano, baking her famous pear-zucchini bread, nut roll cookies and apples pies. She also loved watching the Indians on TV, while listening to Tom Hamilton call it on the radio because "l just love the excitement in his voice." GO TRIBE!

But Marie's true legacy lies in her passion for Organic Gardening, which she practiced and perfected since 1971. She was proud of her gardens, the quality of her vegetables and the purity of her land. The knowledge & techniques she stored in her head could fill volumes & she freely shared her expertise with anyone who wanted to learn. She was a walking encyclopedia. "Gardening is good for the soul and you can't get any closer to God than working in His soil." She was a true nurturer to both family and her garden.

Marie was welcomed into eternity by her parents, husband Bernard, daughter Sheila, 6 siblings and many more who loved her.

Join us for calling hours Monday July 18 from 5-7, with burial service Tuesday July 19 at 1 1 at Cowling Funeral Home, Oberlin Ohio.

Burial will be in Westwood Cemetary, Oberlin
