Magdalen Jean Kohut

Magdalen "Jean" Kohut of Oberlin passed away March 19 2018 at Welcome Nursing Home. Jean was born in Hambrook Bristol, England February 2 1924.  She worked as a nanny in Oberlin for many years.  Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society of Oberlin.  She enjoyed knitting, cake decorating and just loved talking to family and friends on the phone.  Jean is survived by her daughter Kathy (Jack) DeRuyter of Oberlin, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents William & Emma Adams, husband Joseph Kohut, daughter Carol Brown, 4 sisters & 3 brothers. There will be a visitation Monday March 26 2018 from 10am until time of services at 11am at the Cowling Funeral Home with Father Robert Cole officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery.
