Lois A. "Pam" West of Vermilion passed away at Stein Hospice in Sandusky on May 13, 2026. Pam was born in Elyria on April 9, 1935.
Raised in Oberlin, she was a 1954 graduate of Oberlin High School. After marrying John “JB” West in 1956, they moved to south Lorain where they lived for 6 years before moving to Vermilion where she remained. After JB’s retirement from Ford Motor Company, Pam and JB worked as resident managers for Crystal Shores Apartments for many years before moving and managing Vacationland Mobile Home Park. Pam worked as manager for 45 years after JB’s passing in 1998, retiring last year. Her most favorite job was working as the cafeteria monitor aka, “the lunch lady” at Vermilion High School during the 70’s.
She loved the students and the memories she made there and was an avid Sailor supporter. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two sons, John West, Robert (Robin) West, two daughters, Lorrie Worcester and Wendy(John )Pickett and in addition, Luis (Sheny) Garcia of Guatemala. Five granddaughters and one grandson, who were the light of her life. Tricia Hoover, Nichol West, Brittany (Joe) Schettine, Alaina West, Malory (Eric) Jones, John (Emily) Pickett. She was also blessed to know 8 great grandchildren. Anastin and Frankie Hoover, Ryder Hall, Joliha Schettine, Everly and Lola Jones and Charlotte and John Reid Pickett. She was the oldest of six children from her late parents, Otis and Mary Worcester of Oberlin.
In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother Richard( Linda) Worcester and sister Beth (Bob) Hawley and sister in law, Joann West. Also many nieces and nephews who she loved as her own. Pam is preceded in death by her husband John West, parents Otis and Mary Worcester, brother Roger Worcester and two sisters Joan (Jim) Goodenow and Kathy (Jim) Billington and brother in law, Don West.
