Kenneth W. Rosa, age 69, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Venice, Florida. He was born on December 9, 1946 in Oberlin, Ohio to Robert and Jean (Snyder) Rosa. He was a 1966 graduate of Oberlin High School and a Vietnam veteran. Ken held various occupations; plumber at Oberlin College and self-employed plumber, millwright at Sterling & Elyria foundries, and lastly self-employed truck driver. Ken also was an avid boater; as member of the American Power Boat Association, Ken was a tunnel boat racer for many years winning numerous trophies including national champion. He enjoying flying, was a licensed pilot, built his own ultralights and member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Ken was also a life member of VFW post 6945 and AMVETS post 17. He resided in Pittsfield as well as spent the last 10 winters in Venice and enjoyed rebuilding cars and motorcycles in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan; a sister, Karen (Vince) Sliman; a son, Ken (Susan), and granddaughter Katiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Ken touched are invited to the COWLING FUNERAL HOME, 228 South Main Street, Oberlin from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that each person recall a memory about Ken in which he made them laugh. “To die is landing on some distant shore” – John Dryden
