Kathryn L. Webster

Kathryn Loraine Webster, 87, of Oberlin Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 24 th , 2026, surrounded by family.

Born June 11, 1939, in Wellsville NY, she was the daughter of Neuire and Edna Marsh Lewis. Kathryn (Kay, Pudge) married James (Jim) Webster on November 3rd, 1958, in Whitesville, NY.

Kay and Jim's love story began as high school sweethearts and grew into a remarkable 67-year marriage. They started their journey together with a honeymoon to Rome, Ohio followed by a trip to Niagara Falls accompanied by Ma Lewis. From that day forward, Jim affectionately called Kay his "Bride," a term of endearment that reflected the unwavering love, respect, and partnership they shared throughout their lives together.

As the wife of an airline mechanic, she embraced a life of adventure and change, moving her family to various places across the country, including Hawaii. No matter where life took them, Kay had a profound gift for turning every house into a warm and welcoming home. Her door was always open, and she loved hosting the many family members and friends who came to visit over the years. With her kind heart, warm smile, and genuine hospitality, anyone who arrived as a stranger left as a friend.

Kay found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed sewing and lovingly created cozy blankets, many of which she donated over a span of 20 years to the Lorain County Dairy Youth Auction. She also found great satisfaction in gardening and preserving her harvest through canning, especially her homemade strawberry jam, which became a favorite among family and friends.

Above all else, Kay was passionate about her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were an endless source of pride and happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She also shared cherished relationships with her siblings, many nieces and nephews, and the Kipton Nickle Plate Crew and Coffee Club who brought her tremendous joy throughout her life.

Kay's legacy of love, kindness, hospitality, and devotion to family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two daughters, Tori (David) Webster, Traci (Robert) Dietrich and son Troyce (Kim) Webster. Three grandchildren, Trisha (Thomas) Schneider, Nickolas (Claire) Bockmore and Cody Webster; great grandchildren Maci, Owen and Halle Schneider; and soon-to-be Baby Bockmore. One brother, Art (Karen) Lewis; two sisters, Beverly Morris and Cindy (Fred) Unverdorben; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: William, Russell, Neuire (Dude), Steve and Jerry Lewis; and three sisters Norma Kellogg, Susie Lewis, and Sharon Leonard.

Please join us for a celebration of life at the Olmsted Township Community Room, 7900 Fitch Road, Olmsted Township on Thursday, July 2 nd , 2026 5:00pm to 7:30pm for an informal open house as we gather to honor Kay's memory. Family and friends are welcome to come and go throughout the evening to share stories and celebrate the joy she brought to our lives.

Please Note: Due to road construction, Fitch Road is closed to through traffic. Please use Bagley Road to access the Olmsted Township Community Room. Local access to the Community Room is maintained.

Lewis Family Members - A special remembrance of Aunt Pudge will be shared during the Lewis Family Reunion to give the Lewis Family an opportunity to celebrate her life together.
