Kathleen P. Velky

Kathleen Patricia Velky passed away on January 8 2017 at Mercy In Lorain after a long illness.  She was born In Cleveland on February 22 1945.  Kathi was a resident of Oberlin since 1974. She attended St. John Hospital nursing school where she becam a RN & Allen Memorial Hospital & University Hospital as an obstetrical nurse.  This was after her first career as a very happy mother & wife.  Kathi enjoyed music, needle work, making jewelry which brought her & others much joy.  Kathi is survived by her husband & college sweetheart & true love of over 50 years Andrew M. Velky Sr. of Oberlin, son Andrew M. Velky Jr. also of Oberlin.  Brothers Charles (Joanne) Kortovich, James Kortovich, Brother in law John & Ann Velky, Larry & Judy Velky, several neices, nephews. Kathi was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Nancy Kortovich, daughter Holly Velky & in Law parents John & Ann Velky.  There will be a visitation held on January 12 2017 from 6-8pm at  Cowling Funeral Home of Oberlin with services Friday beginning at 10am at the funeral home with Father Robert Cole of Sacred Heart Catholic church officiating.
