Julia M. Alston

Julia M. Alston 74 of Oberlin passed away at Welcome Nursing Home on October 19 2018 after a long illness. She was born in Demopolis, Alabama on June 13 1944.  She worked as an Assembler at Nordson for 27 years.  Julia was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board, Human Resource Board, Co Founder of Clothing Ministry of Mt. Zion. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, travel and spending time laughing and smiling with all her family around her.  She is survived by her 2 daughters Tamala Barbee of Elyria, Aravetta Alston of Oberlin, 2 granddaughters Tiara & Talesha Barbee, 3 brothers Bobby Alston of Oberlin, Jimmie Alston of Elyria and Elbert Thornton of Shreveport, Louisiana, 1 sister Ruenell Mouldin of Elyria. Julia was preceded in death by her parents James Tolbert & Mary Lee Mouldin and a sister Augustine Johnson.  Visitation will be Friday October 26 2018 at 10am in Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oberlin followed by services at 11am with Rev. Fred Bell officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.cowlingfuneralhomeoh.com
