Judith Ellen (Davis) Riggle passed away November 25th,2020 at Kendal at Oberlin.
Memorial service on hold due to virus
A gregarious, socially-minded person,Judy was involved in a range of community activities. A lifelong activist, she attended many protest marches. Judy was decades-long member and officer of the League of Women Voters and celebrated the election of 6 new Congresswomen by organizing a tea party. As a member of Rotary, she traveled to Central America multiple times to meet with applicants for help from US clubs. She was an active member of Peace Community Church.
Judy worked as a children's librarian, later becoming Director of Avon Lake Public Library where she oversaw the construction of the new, expanded and modernized award winning library building. She was named Ohio Librarian of the year in 1999.
Retirement didn't slow Judy down. She and Tom traveled extensively, often with family and friends, to destinations around the world. She sewed and donated
numerous quilts to individuals and charities.
Judy was preceded in death by her son Troy and is survived by husband,Tom, brother Jim Davis and wife Elaine,children Ken and Rada Riggle, Joyce and Greg Bell, and Terri Riggle and partner Jay Liptak. She also leaves behind beloved neighbor, Silvia Lowe and grandson Chance Lowe.
