Joseph Elmer Weiss, Jr. (Dec 6, 1933 - Dec 31, 2018)
Joseph Weiss passed away at Wesleyan Village in Elyria, OH on December 31, 2018. He was raised by his parents Joseph Elmer Weiss and Helen Caroline Noedinger. He was born in Chicago, Illinois where he grew up with his sister Mardelle and his two brothers Tom and Gerald. He married his wife Glennys Ann Ritchie on June 7, 1959.
He is survived by his brother Gerald, his wife Glennys of 59 years, his four children, Larry, Helen, Renee, and Tim, and his 8 grandchildren. His youngest son Tim Weiss, married to Beth Weiss live in Oberlin, OH.
Joseph Weiss, Jr. spent 7 years in New Guinea as a Lutheran missionary and continued his calling as a pastor his entire adult life. He had abundant enthusiasm for life, his family and humanity. In addition to being a loving father and husband, he had a passion for serving and always wanted to make a difference in his community. He carried his spiritual faith to his last breath.
Services will be held in June. A private service for Wesleyan residents will be held Jan 12. The family does not wish any gifts, flowers, or donations.
