Joan J Moore

Joan J. Moore 85 of Oberlin passed away at Mercy Hospital in Lorain January 18 2017. She was born Sept. 14 1931 in Elyria, Ohio.  Joan worked at the Head Start & Early Childhood Center in Oberlin for 5 years retiring in 2007. She then worked for Easter Seals & Oberlin Public Library.  Joan was a member of Rust United Methodust Church of Oberlin having served on the Womens Board. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Joan enjoyed travel, movies, music & reading. She is survived by her 3 Daughters Alison Arnold, Dorothy Smith & Martha Lacroix, 2 Sons Edsel & George Hocker, 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren & 4 Great Great Grandchildren.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband Arthur W. Moore, parents Harlan & Dorothy Scott, sister Carole Johnson, brother Louis Scott & Granddaughter Samia Smith.  Visitation will be held Tuesday January 24 2017 from 10am with a service conducted by the Delta Sigma Theta Sisters followed by a funeral servcie at 11am officiated by Pastor Stanley Miller of Rust United Methodust Church.
