Frances W. Slocum 94 of Oberlin passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 9 2018. Frances was born March 6 1924 in Washington, D.C. She was a graduate of Oberlin College Conservatory as a concert pianist where she taught there for 15 years retiring in 1991. Frances was a member of First Church of Oberlin, National Assc. of African American Musicians, N.A.A.C.P. She volunteered at the Cleveland Clinic & Salvation Army. Frances enjoyed cooking, reading and travel... She is survived by her son George Jeffrey (Karen Schaefer) Slocum of Oberlin, granddaughter Amber Poirier Aller of Bardstown, Ky., 2 great grandaughters Isabella F. Aller of Bardstown, Ky., & Catherine J. Bunch also of Bardstown, Ky. brother Dr. George T. Walker of Montclair, N.J. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry C.
