With deepest sorrow, we announce that David Wayne Saltis (63) our brother, family member, and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home on 6/30/22.
He was born in Lorain, OH 7/29/58 and graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1976.
Those who knew Dave even a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Christine Saltis, and grandparents Stephen and Margaret Saltis, and Walter and Mary Kozloski.
He is survived by brothers Greg (Teresa) and Brian (Michele) and sisters Debbie (Paul) Janner, Renee (John) Bauer, and Mary (Bob) Anderson. Nephews Matt Darmafall and Zachary Hayes and nieces Arrika Garcia, Asia Hayes, and Brittany (Donnie) Missig.
Although a private person, Dave was proud to follow in his grandfather's footsteps as an artisan well known for his masterful carpentry skills and was proud of the designs he created. He was a simple man who prided himself on taking difficult and unwanted projects and making them unique.
Dave's dog Sasha died in March 2022 and there were no words to describe the heartache he felt. So, I guess if there is a place in the afterlife where little dogs and old dawgs go, that's where you'll find Dave & Sasha hanging out.
A celebration of life will be held at Scorchers Casual Eatery & Draft House 900 Broadway Ave. Lorain, OH on Saturday, July 30, 2022 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Road Elyria, OH 44035
