Daniel Hrnchar Jr.

Daniel Hrnchar Jr., 73 of Brighton died Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Lorain after complications from a surgery for a sudden serious illness.

Daniel was born on May 25, 1952 to the late Daniel Hrnchar Sr. and Joan Gusky Hrnchar. He graduated in 1970 from Elyria Catholic High School and attended college at Miami University in Ohio. He worked as a plasterer out of Cleveland for over 30 years.

Dan is survived by his wife of 50 years Debra Sandfry Hrnchar, daughters Dawn Pruitt and Lindsay (Bret) Bowman, and son Daniel Hrnchar III; 10 grandchildren, Quinton, Madison, Benjamin, Isobel, Finn and Adalia Pruitt, Logan, Trayton, Wayde and Arly Bowman and three great-grandchildren; Braylen, Oliver and Stevie, two sisters Patricia (Tim) Walsh, Pauletta (Gary) Stanislawski and a brother John (Linda) Hrnchar.

Dan was a friend to all and spent his life serving the Lord, adoring his wife and raising their family. Close friends, family and even complete strangers were often greeted with a smile, a wise word (or many) and if they were lucky one of his hugs!
