Chip Rathwell

Chip passed away at University Hospital in Cleveland.  Chip served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  He worked  & served in many capasities of the welding industry retiring in 2007.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain. Chip was a life member of V.F.W. Post #1079 in Elyria &  D.A.V. Chapter #49.  He was a board member of the Amherst Historical Society & was a life member of Quary Masonic #382.  Chip was also a member of the American Welding Society past chairman 1995-96 & won 2 awards CWI of the year, in 2002 won the District Educator Award of the year.  Chip enjoyed auto racing, Cleveland sports, military & local histories, attending air shows & most important being with his family..  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Amherst Historical Society or Friendship APL in Elyria.  Online condolences may be made to www.cowlingfuneralhomeoh.com
