Bertha L. Rathwell

Bertha L. Rathwell 100 formally of Oberlin passed away on January 26 2021 at Keystone Point in LaGrange. She was born in Grafton on December 10 1920. Bertha was a member of East Oberlin Community Church and taught Sunday school there for 18 years and also served as the financial secretary for 22 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Berth is survived by her son Harlan (Doreen deceased) Rathwell, daughters Judy (Jeff) Wheeler and Debbie (Gary) Carruthers, 5 grandsons, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Otis and Charlotte Knapp, her beloved husband Harlan E. Rathwell (married 71 years), great granddaughter Megan Rathwell, 3 brothers and 8 sisters . There will be a private visitation at the Cowling Funeral Home with burial in Brookdale cemetery officiating by Patty Jo Sheldon (niece of Bertha).
