Allene C. Holliman

Allene Carol Holliman, 92, was born and raised in Oberlin, Ohio. Beloved Wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (“GG”) passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 27th. Allene married James Holliman (deceased), they were married for 73 years and had 3 sons. James Jr. (deceased), Eric, (Phyllis) and Christopher, (Barbara), four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Allene is preceded in death by Larry Sr. and Alfred Jr. Johnson,  survived by Betty Joyce and many loved nieces and nephews.

Allene was a retired nurse and a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oberlin. She served in multiple committees including being a proud member of the Sisters of Wisdom. Allene was an avid golfer and was the first woman president of Oberlin Golf Club. She was a member of the 19th Century club who also enjoyed playing bridge and solving crossword puzzles. Allene was a guiding light and source of endless love to all, her life lessons and love live on.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, Lorain, Ohio.

A private family service will be held at Westwood Cemetery.
