Alan E. Schott 79 of Oberlin passed away at Welcome Nursing Home on February 23 2026 after a long illeness. He was born in Oberlin on June 30 1946 and was a graduate of Oberlin High School. Alan worked on the Oberlin College grounds crew and enjoyed drawing, model cars, trains, and watching his Cleveland sports teams. Alan was Vice President of the Resident Council at Welcome Nursing Home. He is survived by his sister Jean Reno, 3 nephews David, Doug and Dean Reno, 1 Niece Donna Power. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lucille Schott and sister Nancy Jo Schott. There will be a visitation at Cowling Funeral Home on Tuesday March 3 2026 from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Monique Greenfield from First United Methodist Church of Oberlin officiating.
