Patricia Manns-Birmingham 75 of Oberlin died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 26 2018. She was born on September 4 1942 in Westlake, Ohio. Patricia earned scholarships, completing a degree from Ashland College in English and American History. After graduation she began a long caree in child warefare as a social worker. Pat completed her her formal education with a masters degree in social work. She also taught English with another organization in Hungary and Portugal. Pat was a long time board member of Lorain County Habitat for Humanity and Pat joined the YWCA and began years of activism. She served faithfully at the Oberlin Hot Meals program in her final years. Pat is survived by her loving family. A celebration of life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Oberlin at 2:30pm on Sunday May 27th. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, the Heifer Project, Tabitha Cambodia, Planned Parenthood or other organizations that support children and families would be appreciated.
