Margaret L. Baker (Owens) Randall

Margaret L. Baker Randall (nee Owens) departed this life on Wednesday, June 15, 2017.  Born on June 24, 1925, she was a lifelong resident of Oberlin.

Mrs. Randall worked at General Industries in Elyria and and at Gilford Instrument Laboratories in Oberlin.  A lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, she and her sister, Charlotte, led the Youth Fellowship, positively impacting the lives of youth in the congregation.  She was involved in the community and led voter registration drives.  She was a Daughter of Isis.

She was preceded in death by her patents, Elmer and Roseanna (Reed) Owens, her first husband, Charles Baker, her sister, Catherine Rhinehardt, and three brothers, Elmer, Robert, and Maurice Owens.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Gary; her daughter Cheryl (Eric) Byler of Salida, Colorado; her sister, Charlotte (Norman) Baker of Ann Arbor, Michigan; her brother, Frederick (Marilyn) of Wellington; her niece, Joyce (Larry) Gates of Ann Arbor for whom she was like a second mother, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oberlin, on Wednesday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m.  The Family Hour will precede the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fred Bell officiating.  Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery.
