Kermit Seeley

February 18, 1923 ~ August 15, 2017 (age 94) 94 Years Old


Kermit Seeley went to be with his Lord Jesus on August 15, 2017.  He was born February 18, 1923 in Mallet Creek, Ohio.  Mr. Seeley was the former owner of Seeley's Army & Navy Store in Oberlin, Ohio.  He served in the 187th Engineer Aviation Battalion during World War II, seeing action in New Guinea, Morotai and the Philippines.  

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Virginia.  Daughter Judi Gerber (Raymond) of Reno Nevada, Son Jeff Seeley (Janet) of Waterloo, Iowa, and Daughter Luanne Landes (Harold) of LaGrange, Ohio.  Four granddaughters, one grandson and five great grandchildren.  

He was preceeded in death by his parents Delwin & Hazel Seeley of Medina, Ohio.  Two brothers Quinten & Robert Seeley.  His sister Josephine Crum.  

Kermit loved wood working and made many beautiful pieces for his family and friends.  Kermit was a charter member of Oberlin Calvary Baptist Church.  

There will be no visitation.  A private family memorial service was held in the home with Pastor Brian Kenyon of Oberlin Calvary Baptist  Church.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to hospice of the Western Reserve in memory of Kermit Seeley.  

Cowling Funeral Home made all the arrangements.
