Kenyon D. Gornall

Kenyon D. Gornall died Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin. He was 94 years old.

He was born June 7, 1924 in Lorain, and lived in Oberlin since 1949. He worked for forty years at the Lorain Journal. Mr. Gornall retired from the Journal in 1989 as Publisher, President and CEO. He served on the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph’s Hospital and was a Director of Junior Achievement of Lorain County.

Gornall was a graduate of Lorain High School and Baldwin - Wallace Colle ge. He served 3 years in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Gornall is survived by daughters, S arah Johns, Elizabeth Poirson, Ellen Flaesgarten and son Ke n yon ; five grandchildren and five great - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane.

Pr ivate family burial will be a Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin on Friday June 29 th .
