Kathleen E. Sparks

Kathleen E. Sparks 73 of Butler, Ohio formally of Oberlin passed away March 19 2018 at Welcome Nursing Home after a long illness.  She was born in Lorain March 30 1944.  Kathy worked in the family insulation business for a number of years & then Murray Ridge Center as an Aid for 8 years. Kathy attended Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.  She enjoyed horses for many years and had them in 4-H as a young lady, also supporting her chidren & neice in 4-H, she was also an Advisor of Saddle Lites 4-H club for many years. Kathy loved her dogs and were her constant companions during her life. She was an avid farmer of vegetables, flowers and fruit trees, just a hard working farm girl who enjoyd bailing hay as well.  After moving down to Knox county she made many Amish friends and enjoyed spending time & helping them as well.  Kathy is survived by her Husband James Sparks Sr. Butler, Ohio, daughter Cindy (Haroon) Tawaf of Rochester, N.Y., sons James (Cynthia) Sparks Jr. S. Amherst & Ken Sparks of Cincinnati, 2 brothers Edgar (Mitsuko) Clark of Oberlin & Ronald Clark of New York, N.Y. Grandchildren & Step Grandchildren Joshua, Juliana, Sarah, Mateen, Dustin, Alex (Sylvia), Jessica, Estelle, Megan, Avelynn, Cullen, Nathan and McKenna.  Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Edgar & Helen Clark, sister JoAnn McFarland.  Visitation will be Thursday March 22 2018 from 6-8pm at the Cowling Funeral Home of Oberlin. Services will be Friday March 23 at 11am in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Sartor officiating.
