Ethel Joann English

Ethel Joann English 88 of Oberlin passed away at home on November 7 2018. She was born in Sisterville, W.V. on July 27 1930.  She was the oldest of 5 children.  She was a graduate of Sisterville High in 1948.  Joann was employed at the Chesapeake and Potomac telephone Co. for 11 years in Everton, Follansbee and Wheeling.  She married Nelson E. English in 1959 and lived in Pittsburgh, Pa. for many years where she was a member of the Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her 2 daughters Janet Ann of Oberlin and Melody Lynn of Eliot, Me. son Brian (Laura) of Kingsworthy, England and 2 grandchildren, sister Carole Dee Harlan of Sarasota, Fl.  . She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas E. & Emma V. Archer, husband Nelson English, 2 brothers Alan & Richard Archer, sister Peggy Sue.  There will be no visitation or services upon Joann's request.  Online condolences may be made to www.cowlingfuneralhomeoh.com
