Eleanor E. Owen

Eleanor E. Owen 95 of Oberlin passed away March 23 2017 in Lorain after a short illness.  She was born in Salem, Mass on June 11 1921.  Eleanor worked as a librarian for Oberlin Public Library for many years. She was a member of First Church of Oberlin. Eleanor enjoyed reading children's books to all the students who passed through Oberlin Schools & simple enjoyed helping others.  Eleanor is survived by her nieces & nephews Deborah Furtado Beatrice Stozina David & Jonathen Emery & Elizabeth Tidwell, Great niece & nephews Owen & Matthew Tidwell & Casey Tidwell.  She was preceded in death by her parents Harold & Ora Stevens, husband Llewelyn A. Owen, step son Robert Owen, step daughter Gwen Owen & a sister Constance Mae Emery.  There will be a graveside service Friday May 12 2017 at 11am in Westwood Cemetery & a Memorial Service will be held Sunday May 14 2017 at First Church with Rev. David Hill officiating.  In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Oberlin Public Library Childrens Dept. or Community Action to Save Strays PO Box 422 Oberlin, Ohio 44074.
