David M. Beurkens

David M. Beurkens 75 of Elyria passed away July 4 2018 at EMH Regional Hospital.  He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 13 1943.  David worked at General Motors for many years as a tool and dye maker. David enjoyed tinkering in his garage and loved all types of music and attending concerts.  He was an avid outdoors man enjoying hiking, biking, white water rafting, camping and fishing. He was a wheelchair basketball and racing enthusiast and played for the Cleveland Cavs & Grand Rapids Pacers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife Deborah whom he married May 11 1997, 4 children Kris (Kevin) Earvin, Erin (Brad) Vanderbos, Karen (Joshua) Ganzevoort, D.W. (Marie) Capers III, 10 grandchildren LeCretia, Jaquel, Zachary, Ava, Eman, Asia, Deianera, Anala, Cora, and Elianna, great granddaughter Amiyah "Tootie", brother Larry and sister Carol Beurkens, niece and nephew Dan (Virginia) and their children Tyler and Jessica and many other relatives.  David was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Beurkens and Bernice (Ralph) Borden, daughter Danielle Capers.  There will be a celebration of life Friday July 13 2018 from  noon until 4pm at Mt.
