We mourn the passing of Daniel J. Goulding, loving husband, father and grandfather, professor at Oberlin College for 40 years, animated teacher and chair of three different departments over his career, world respected authority and author on Eastern European film, honored by the Yugoslav people for telling the story of their national cinema, contributor to charities, community leader, sparkling wit, lover of theatre, and passionate gardener. He nursed his partner in life, Elizabeth, to the last, then undertook his own final journey with dignity and thoughtfulness of others. Survived by his sons, Michael (and daughter in law, Margie and grandson, David) and Gregory (and son in law Kai), who treasured him as their compass and comfort in all things.
Daniel passed on June 16, 2018 at age 82. A Memorial celebrating Daniel's extraordinary life will be held at Kendal at Oberlin, Main Building, Heiser Auditorium, 600 Kendal Drive, Oberlin, OH 44074 on August 4th at 2:00 pm.
