Mary Broadnax

Mary Broadnax 98 of Washington D.C. & formally of Oberlin,Ohio passed away June 2 2017.  She was born in Pittsview, Alabama April 3 1919.  While in Oberlin Mary was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board, April Club, Pastors Aid Club, & Missionary Society.  When she moved to Washington, D.C. she united with Union Wesley AME Zion.  She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, sewing, babysitting & helping others.  Mary is survived by 2 sons Mack & Charles Broadnax, 3 daughters Eula Bush, Lavonda Kay Broadnax, Sandra McKinnon, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild & sister Pearl Jones.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents Ed & Clara Blanding, husband King Solomon Broadnax, 5 brothers James, John, Robert, William & Y.Z. Blanding & a sister Georgia Gaines.  Visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 11am in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Of Oberlin on June 12 2017 with the Rev. Fred L. Bell officiating.
